This past Tuesday Gracie was at her pulmonary follow-up clinic visit at the Riverton Hospital Primary Childrens Outpatient Clinics, when she started getting really droopy, and her heartrate was through the roof. Her pulmonologist told us to get down to the ER, so we did. After lots of blood tests and some IV fluids, they decided she needed to be transported by ambulance to Primary Childrens Hospital. They diagnosed her with severe dehydration, and the rotovirus, how she got that we have no idea. She only has one good kidney as it is, and that was almost not functioning. They pumped her full of fluids trying to get her levels back to normal, and made sure that she could keep food down her before she could be discharged. After about 5 days, she finally came home yesterday afternoon and seems to be doing better. She was poked and prodded so much, she is such a little trooper. She has been through so much, and is still as sweet and mellow as ever. Thanks to everyone who helped with Konnor and Sierra during this ordeal.
She loves this moose, one was donated to each patient at Primary Childrens while she was there.
Yesterday before she came home.
Konnor and Sierra with their patients, given to them by the hospital, along with some doctors supplies, so they could be doctors too.
(They would not cooperate together for a decent picture)
Wow! You've been through a lot. I'm glad Gracie is ok and home again.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry that you had to go through more of this. Poor, sweet, little Gracie. She IS a trooper... and so are the rest of you. Glad she is doing better.
ReplyDeleteOh poor little Gracie! Glad to hear she is home now. Aubree got that virus and she was hospitalized for 3 days. It is a nasty bug! Hugs to all your kids!
